Basking in the Natural Splendour of the Nobbies

Having derived its name from its unusual rock formations, the Nobbies is one the Melbourne’s most well known natural features. Situated at the western end of Phillip Island, it is the natural habitat of many different species of sea birds and penguins. Melbourne tours featuring the Nobbies as one of its attractions will take tourists on a journey along the Boardwalk where they may be lucky enough to spot a whale or dolphins. Just off the coast, visitors can see one of the largest colonies of Australian fur seals at Seal Rocks. These iconic rock formations overlook one of the world’s most treacherous stretches of ocean – the sight is particularly beautiful to behold in warmer months where the weather is perfect for a leisurely walk around this area. Tour guides will accompany visitors along the coastline, in amongst nestling sea birds and other marine life that thrives in this area, which for many, becomes the highlight of their visit to this naturally beautiful city.
