I harm my aid, was unable to fold forward, or sit. When given the go ahead by my doctor to go again, I found the Core Fusion Pilates DVD, and the Core Fusion Body Sculpt DVD, to be the only workouts that I could do without increasing my injury. In fact, it helped do the precise opposite and helped HEAL my relieve. After 6 weeks, I went from having a severe condition to being super and determined. I did not pick any drugs. I went to the chiropractor regularly, iced my injury, and did Core Fusion, and I feel better than ever!!! Not to mention I lost inches from my waist and hips, and am the strongest, leanest, and most flexible I have ever been! This dvd is AWESOME and empowering!

The creators of this DVD- and the Core Fusion program at Exhale Spa- were instructors for the Lotte Berk Device years ago. As such, there program has the same elements- ballet exercises (they exhibit with a chair instead of a barre), yoga, Pilates and orthopedic exercises. This release emphasizes more yoga (lots of planks and stretches) and their seize on Pilates principles (they topple into the “tuck” school vs. the neutral spine) . Based on the clips of the companion Body Sculpt release, it looks as if that one emphasizes more of the ballet work.

Others have criticized the amount of stretches in this and other Lotte Berk Plot derivatives, but I deem that’s one of the method’s strengths (no pun intended) . I like that they integrate the stretches into the sets so they are difficult to skip- people don’t stretch enough, particularly through their hips- but I’d consume that they both waited a breath or two longer before the stretches began and held them for a longer period of time.

This release contains no weights- “unbiased” body resistance. They more than get up for that with a long plank sequence and their variant on Knee Dancing (who knew that could work your obliques so well? ) . The star of the release is probably going to be Pure Core segment. While they include some classics like the Roll Up and some crunch variants (my least common ever), it’s their grasp on the flat wait on work that might leave you breathless. First they initiate with a rounded benefit in a seated dwelling then depart the legs together, hooked, straight, on the ground, and lifted, with variations of all. Then they do the same against a wall. This tough, and you’ll feel your abs as well as your upper body and quads.

I plan this was a curious practice, but maybe a small too grand. Although the creators retract turns showing modifications- he shows the ones demanding more strength, and she shows the ones showing more flexibility- great of what they point to would smooth be too noteworthy for a lot of people. Maybe they should have added a third modifier as the Lotte Berk releases did so everyone would feel like they could participate.

This is very fascinating, and many people who already like barre workouts will appreciate the abdominal portion.

I esteem “Clash of the Titans,” but I’m terribly disappointed by the quality of this DVD. The “all-new digital transfer” that the manufacturer promises is quite possibly the worst transfer I’ve ever seen, enhancing the film’s visual flaws while disguising its merits. In composite shots, live-action elements are so washed-out as to appear almost black-and-white at times, while stop-motion elements are garishly shimmering and crisp, looking more like cartoons than dimensional objects. This is particularly pronounced in shots of the flying Pegasus; the digital transfer so exaggerates the matte lines around the figure that it appears to be a paper cut-out plastered against the sky. Even the handsome Medusa segment suffers from these defects: what was, in the new (and on VHS), an atmospheric balance of rich darks and flickering red lights, becomes a clash of nearly impenetrable spots of shadow against grainy, pale-brown relief. I’m no authority on digital transfers, but my guess is that this one was done as rapid and cheaply as possible, the manufacturer’s reasoning being (probably) that fans of Harryhausen will be so thrilled to have his films on DVD that they could care less what the films notice like. Well, I was thrilled to have “Clash of the Titans” on DVD–but when the abysmal quality of the transfer interferes with the very effects that manufacture the film spacious, my enthusiasm wanes considerably. I’d announce fans of Harryhausen to rob the video version, and to write furious letters to the manufacturer protesting their callous desecration of one of the master’s greatest films.

What a shame, this is Ray’s last feature film and they give the man a kick in his pants with this transfer. This has some of Ray’s best creations and it’s ruined with a washed out grainy print. I could not bring myself to give it a lower rating. The film deserves 5 stars for Harryhausen’s unbelievable work, but the DVD transfer keeps me from giving a stout thumbs up. The movie is unexcited very watchable and at a bargain impress it should not be passed by, but it should have been powerful better! Thankfully they are starting to work on releasing his films on Blue Ray….I’ll maintain my fingers crossed that they do this gifted genius justice!

Once again, Disney misses the sign with an unfavorable DVD release. Why do we crave seeing our common stars on DVD? Represent clarity, extra features, restored prints, optional commentary… none of which are evident on this terrible release of a improbable Hayley Mills film. Disney’s inexplicable inconsistency becomes evident when terrible efforts such as this one are compared to stellar, awe-inspired efforts such as “The Parent Trap” and “Pollyanna”, multi-disk sets released with quality and features on par with Criterion Collection releases. I give up on buying Disney. Next time, I’m going to rent the DVD first. Why slay money on unusual Disney DVD’s that are despicable in quality to the VHS versions I already have! Hey Disney, wake up!

UPDATE: The web situation did not let me change the stars so maintain in mind the DVD is 1 star and the movie itself is 4 stars.

FILM REVIEW 4 stars

First off this is a astounding movie, and very novel in its fair Island setting of Crete. It is a fun mystery. Directed by James Neilson, produced by Bill Anderson. Released in theatres in 1964, it starred Hayley Mills, Eli Wallach, Joan Greenwood, and Peter McErney. It is the speedy paced yarn of two tourists that accidently tangle with some murderous jewel thieves. Hayley plays Nikky, on vacation with her Aunt Frances in a limited Greek fishing village. They cease at a remote sleepy itsy-bitsy inn, and designate that a dashing young man that Nikky is falling for from England suddenly dissappears. Romance, drama, mystery, action, and humor are in this film. The actors all work hard to acquire the film believable and do a broad job. Pola Negri who had not made a film in 20 years was convinced to approach out of retirement, and does a incredible job as the treacherous Madame Habib. She lives on a yacht and has a cheetah on a leash for a pet. Young MCEnery went on to appear in “the Fighting Prince of Donegal” for Disney.

There is some favorable cultural stuff, the greek wedding dancers costumes were from a musuem, and the dancers were local professionals. Filming on place, Disney spent a fortune rebuilding the village that had been ravaged by WWII. They passe 25,000 feet of saunter and 2,000 sheets of plywood. The anecdote was taken from a book by Mary Stewart, suggested to become a movie by Mrs. Lillian Disney, but the finished film is handsome far from it’s novel legend. First-rate mucical acquire by Ron Grainer, title song written by Terry Gilkyson.

It eventually aired on “the Astounding World of Disney”, in 1966, ‘67, and ‘82. It even aired in 1975 in conjunction with the “Saturday Night at the Movies with Disney” specials. Released on video the first time time in 1985. If you like Disney films of the period, you will luxuriate in this one too. It is nice to ogle Hayley Mills in her more conventional role.

I saw a premier showing of Jonah and I could not maintain the quality of the animation, the wonderful music, and a very well told myth. I view every aspect was outstanding. My kids are 6 & 9 and they loved it and were singing the songs afterwards. As a dad I notion it provided definite messages I want reinforced in my children. I cannot recommend it highly enough. It is certainly one of the the best kids movies I have seen. In fact, if I did not have kids I would have loved it too.

Being a member of the more (as Eddie Izzard would say) “Relaxed and groovy” sect of Christianity, it is not surprising that the incredible VeggieTales series appeals to me, even at the ripe obsolete age of eighteen. The videos not only give God’s message in a procedure that puny children can swallow, but sometimes as a young adult with a past of sincere religiousness to live up to, it helps me to understand my faith better to glimpse it through the eyes of a child (or indeed, an asparagus) .

So when the first feature by these honorable people came out, I was among the first to discover it. (And if you judge I was embarrassed buying a price to “Jonah” the weekend that “Red Dragon” opened, well then…you’re fair) The film was magnificent. It holds apt to the recent (although some call it Pythonesque) style of the videos but does not depend on the videos for enjoyment. It is recent, charming, shiny, and Sherlock Holmes couldn’t catch a hint of dysfunction in the whole eighty-some minutes.

On the diagram to a concert, the car breaks down and driver Bob the Tomato and navigator Dad Asparagus come by aid in a nearby seafood restaurant. But the trusty tragedy is Laura Carrot has lost the backstage pass she won out the car window. Now, Junior thinks this is enormous because she was being mean and flaunting it. At any rate, Junior encounters three “questionable” characters who call themselves “The Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything” (Perceive “Very Amusing Songs” or “The Ultimate Funny Song Countdown”) played by Pa Grape, Larry the Cucumber and Mr. Lunt. (A Python reference? Most definitely) So he and the Pirates skim in very grand the oposite direction, until a storm makes it apparent that God is very upset with one of them. So Jonah heroically hurls himself into the sea where he is promptly eaten by a whale. The theme is Compassion and Mercy and to remind you that no matter who you are or what kind of aquatic animal you like to slap people with, God says you are deserving of a second chance. I won’t whisper you how the concert goes because that’ll slay the movie, and I won’t inform you how Jonah gets out of the whale because…well, frankly, you should know. It’s a very well known account.

What struck me the most was the sheer scale of the project. It wasn’t unbiased like watching two and a half Veggie videos benefit to wait on (which is not a unpleasant intention to exhaust an afternoon) . It was instead marvelously independent of the tapes. With camera sweeps and plot designs that wouldn’t feel out of area in the latest Pixar/Disney joint. Film students would rep nothing sinister with the structure and hurry of this cinematic marvel. The characters filled their parts the diagram we say sitcom actors embody their characters (and maybe it’s humdrum to say that the performances were worthy when the “performances” were honest thunder actors and cartoons, but every miniature detail on Archibald’s face was carefully designed by the animators to roar a specific emotion and I deem the mission was meliphluously accomplished…unless I spelled it noxious) . The music was not merely up to Veggie standards, it was simply trustworthy. From the childish medley about “Billy Joe McGuffrey” to the Gospel choir (for my money the first reference to African-American culture in the series. Legal me if I’m unpleasant) singing about a God of “Second Chances” to the “Comic Songs with Larry” vein of “The Credits Song” it was all I could do to bustle to a shop and select the soundtrack (a college man has to eat, you know) . The raze credits also featured a song called “In the Belly of the Whale” performed by Christian rock group Newsboy, which is probably a nod to the Disney tradition of an Slay Credits Theme. Even the presence of the clearly one hundred percent clownish character of Khalil the half caterpillar/half worm salesman with a regional accent that makes Babbu Bhatt from Seinfeld seek like an Oxford English scholar could not win away from the quality of the experience.

So I run you, Protestants, Catholics, Methodists, Christians, Baptists, Quakers, the lot to assume your children, your wives or your sheep to gawk this movie. (You probably won’t luxuriate in it if you aren’t of the faith, because it does advance sparkling directly from the Bible, but if you can be patient through the religous references and stick around for the fun, go for it!) Don’t unbiased go because your kids want to go. Go because it’s a droll movie, it’s a agreeable movie, it’s got a genuine message and you’ll leave feeling delicate gracious about a thing or two. This is the kind of movie that people need to be making more of and it’s the kind of movie people need to be watching more of. I’d ogle it again in a cramped.

I’m unbiased about to turn 34 and finally the four modern theatrical Pippi Longstocking releases are arriving on DVD. I unexcited obtain a kick out of Pippi and her friends. These 4 discs are all novel enchanting, digital transfers and It will knock your socks off. For those wondering about the audio tracks, the unusual 1970s advise over track we all remembered so well was also kept. There isn’t any novel updated explain over which I’m angry about, this was only done on the TV DVD series of Pippi released last year since there was no English dub for the TV series. The four Pippi films were mostly shown in the US with a unbelievable (Godizilla like) philosophize over audio track in English. There is no Swedish audio track, again because these films were actually taken from the TV series in Sweden and edited together to produce a plump length films for the US in the 1970s. There is a Spanish track, however.

I was swayed a petite and confused by the reviews that people left here about the 4 DVD Pipi Collection vs the TV Series DVD so I bought both the 4 DVD plot & the TV series DVD to be certain that I was getting what I was looking for and to hopefully leave a more clearer review. When looking for this I also discovered that many people have there believe generation of the Pippi that was theirs.

I was looking for the one from when I was a microscopic youth born in 1975 and grew up on Vancouver Island and enjoyed Pipi most of my life. I wanted to bring wait on those “oh so dear to my heart” childhood memories of Pipi… and this is IT!!!! This is the boxed plot you are looking for if your memories are from around the dates of my childhood neck of the woods.

The “TV Series DVD” to me was disappointing. They did change Annika to Anna and the children were not as cheerful in the dubbing and the dialogue is certainly different. You are watching the same images but, you do fetch another storyline perspective of Pipi. As well, the images are pieced together differently to effect a different account that contrivance too.

One Example:

When Tommy and Annika reach to give Pippi the candy box she gives them gifts too. A Harmonica and a ball.

TV Series DVD

Pipi is looking for her bag of gold gives Tommy a pocket knife (which kinda unnerved me) and Annika a hair comb, I believe it was.

You do learn different things about Pippi that you would not have otherwise known from the TV Series DVD as opposed to the box state, but it’s nothing essential to know, it is not money needed to be spent…unless you have it to exhaust and would like to give it a try. But honestly, the TV series DVD has been viewed once and is collecting dust on my shelf and does not have the same joy to me as the one I grew up with.

The 4 DVD Boxed position is definately the English dubbed Pipi I remember in all it’s Glory!!! Proper down to the infectious roarous children’s’ laughter of Annika and Tommy with Pippi and Pipi’s lovable, “flirt with exertion” “fearless, sly, cheeky, joyful declare of “who me? innoncence” to the nostalgic soundtrack scratch (that I guess is what could be what is being misinterpreted as smoking voices) *shrug* I do assume though that Pipi’s mammoth burley papa could have sounded this method, I guess…but, I unbiased opinion that it was cuz he was her substantial strong ” Captain of the South Seas” papa *GRIN*

This Pippi was definately the Pippi that every child in my time wanted to be with or even BE! Hope this helps! And if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask I will wait on you if I can. Joy to you and YOUR Pipi memories *smile*

From the very beginning, Kung Fu Panda had me practically falling out of my seat — laughing. It was the perfect blend of comedy, heart, and action, all considerable elements in a successful and huge animation/CGI film, in the tradition of The Incredibles and (less action, but containing the heart and laughter) Ratatouille, Finding Nemo and Monsters, Inc.

I was laughing, smiling, and guffawing at Po, the main protagonist (voiced by Jack Murky) and his misadventures at becoming a Kung Fu expert. This was certainly a flawed character, one that a lot of people can portray to because he dreams, he’s humorous, and he can laugh at himself. Also, the legend was beautiful determined and easy to follow because the storytelling was well crafted, and the animation was paired well with characters brought vividly to life by some of the most noted names in Hollywood.

Jack Murky and Dustin Hoffman are downright satisfactory as the main characters, and Ian McShane as the abominable dude gave it the moral paralyzed presence. Other astronomical name stars don’t shine as grand, but that’s because their roles are rather dinky in the film. But that’s aloof okay because the animators should be given equal credit (if not more) for delivering the silly, action and heart elements of this movie in an effective, astonishing and (I’ve got to exercise this) AWESOME manner. Visually, this movie is graceful (scrutinize all those scenic shots of the Chinese mountains, bodies of water, and the bridge scene; not to mention the action animation version of “The Matrix” with slow-mo) … simply a delight to spy.

It’s definite that Dreamworks has gotten encourage in the animation game with Kung Fu Panda, after exiguous ho-hums in Shrek 3 and Bee Movie (call me crazy, but I liked Over The Hedge more than those two) . Hopefully, it should come by well over $500M worldwide because it is so estimable.

This movie rightfully belongs in the top animation movies of all time (okay, let’s not include the classic fairy tales of old; let’s initiate with the 90’s onwards), alongside my faves “The Incredibles” “Finding Nemo” and “Beauty & The Beast.” Has the makings of being a classic.

With deep foreboding, I walked into this movie braced for second rate animation (at least compared to Pixar), endless fights between cartoons (as in the CGI “Clone Wars”), and a cultural sensitivity that was either painfully preachy (like “Mulan”) or outright insulting (like “Aladdin”) .

At first, my apprehension seemed confirmed. Unpleasant Dustin Hoffman mangles Chinese names without mercy – so powerful so that James Hong, Lucy Liu and Jackie Chan have to deliberately mispronounce stuff honest to match what he says.

But once the movie got rolling, I found myself grinning from ear to ear in sheer delight. Yes, it’s right, Dreamworks can’t compete with Pixar’s technology, but they effect up for it with graceful graphic fabricate, sheer wit and – of course – those hilariously quivering “Scrat Eyes”. What’s more, the animators somehow manage to originate Kung Fu battles between cartoons both consuming and scrumptious – every bit the match of live action fights (which nowadays are nothing more than CGI with faces pasted on) .

However, the most grand thing about this film is how faithful it is to Chinese culture – family dynamics, Buddhist philosophy, values, and even martial arts – this film simply HAS to have been written by Chinese. There is never a moment where it strains to “collect points” with political correctness. Its characters are never tediously pleasurable “anti-stereotypes”, but are instead lovingly depicted with all their flaws intact while uniquely Chinese messages are delicately hidden within a place crammed with excitement and laughter. Here you experience how parental worship turns into suffocating pressure, here you inspect teenage rebellion as a monstrosity rather than a virtue, here you behold the quirky characters of a city (complete with that wobbly “dart foot” gallop), here you hear the wisdom of Zen detachment, and here you experience the sacred relationship between student and teacher.

Perhaps my plan is biased by the surprise this movie gave to my shameful expectations, but I can’t relieve but recognize this film as an unappreciated but precious gem. Now if only someone could do the same thing with Islamic culture…!

I was immoral. Yes, Beck feels strongly about his faith, and, at first, I concept he perhaps was being too hard on Mormons as a people; however, he came through on all fronts.
