Be More Productive with A Faster Windows XP
A slow PC should be ancient history. In this day of innovations and technology, utilizing a slow personal computer will really make you feel living in the Jurassic era. Bcause of this that people usually search for ways to speed up their computers.
If you are experiencing this, then you just came to right place. Its true that there are several ways involve in speeding up a PC. But then again, these easy sacrifices are always worth it.
Here is some of the tweaking I did to speed up my Windows:
> Getting bored with the menu delays is really annoying. Cut down the time to load menu transitions through right clicking your desktop. Select Properties and Select the Effects tab. Unchoose the Animate windows menu lists. For Windows XP users, you can do this by right-clicking on the desktop, selecting Properties, clicking the Appearance tab, selecting the Effects option and unchoose Use the following transition effects for menus and tooltips, then Select OK.
> Speed up Windows Start Up by cleaning out the softwares you dont utilize at start-up. For those who use Windows 98, this could be done by means of going to Start and clicking Run. Type in MSConfig.exe and hit OK button select the Start up tab then unmark the applications you wish to disablethrough the startup. As you see, you may be able to speed start up Windows if you cut down the softwares that computer needs to run.
> Defragment also helps to speed up your PC. Find the defrag option under your System Tools menu from the Accessories or Start Tab. Make sure that you give a time for defragging. Operating varied applications as the same time as defragging restricts the process itself.
> Selecting to install your software is recommended if you always encounter script and other minor errors. Always scan your PC for viruses before backing up any files. Also, be sure that you have a copy of your hardware drivers and program installers before trying to delete the contents of your hard drive Installing again your software could run for as long as an hour or more.
> Removing programs that you do not use. Software, whether you are utilizing them or not, take up space in your hard disk. If you arent utilizing them, then is there still a need to keep them?
